Hi what is the best method to pay a tradesman? Cheque, bank transfer, PayPal or cash?

Whatever suits you and the tradesman. Just remember paper trail in case of difficulties for either party.

You would be better asking the tradesman you employ.
From a tradesman's point of view cash is always king 👑 but realistically we personally accept cash,cheque or bacs.
But its up to what is acceptable to the tradesmen you hire.

Tbh I think card is best way to pay a tradesmen as people do not like to carry large amounts of cash around.
