Replacing old fireplace
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM
We have just moved to a 1930 house and has a big fireplace that we would like to replace to a Victorian one. Do we need a specialist to do this and if we do where can we find one. We live in Bristol and I bought a Victorian fireplace from eBay already.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Riley
The answer to your question is no you do not, if you have a large Inglenook fireplace you would need a bricklayer to close it up to the dimensions of your new fireplace, if the chimney is large the that should be closed up smaller as well to get a better draw, or get a fireplace fitter to put a large liner in with a chimney hood
Allen.
