I just posted a job, but wanted to check if I need planning permission for it

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi you don't require planning permission for stud walls however if it is load bearing to remove it will require confirmation to building regulations and steel calculations for install of an rsj best thing to do is ring up your local council for advice

Hi Sharon, Removal of internal walls does not require Planning Permission, however, if it is a load bearing wall then you will require advice from a Structural Engineer. They can then design you a steel to support the loadings above. You will also require approval from Building Control, which can be found at your local council.
