What is best to block out sound in a Borrowed Light?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.31 PM

Hi guys, Just moved into a new place and there are two borrowed lights above the two bedroom doors. We didn't realise when we moved in that there was no glass in them, so naturally sound carries through to both bedrooms and you can hear almost everything. What is the best fitting to use to soundproof them? Happy to have glass, plywood, anything and it can even block out the light. Just need to have the best sound proofing possible because right now there is no privacy and no hope of sleeping when someone might be watching television even downstairs. All the best, S

MDF would be the best and easiest short term solution for sure, you can buy part sheets in most DIY stores, the thicker it is the better but even 6mm will make a world of difference.
