Paint for mdf skirting and copper radiator pipe

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.12 PM

Can I use eggshell on mdf skirting and can I use any type of paint or a primer to paint copper radiator pipe (i'm thinking of painting white )?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Eggshell paint is fine for mdf. As far as I'm aware for radiator pipes you can paint them but any plumber would suggest the white snap on covers you can buy 😊

Hi. If the mdf skirting is ready primed then yes eggshell will work fine, if you want a very nice finish lightly sand after 1st coat with 180 grit paper as primed mdf does have 'nibs'. To prime copper pipes i would use an oil based primer or zinnser b.i.n Water based primers can discolor with the copper .
