Installing underfloor heating when you have no central heating system

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.12 PM

Hi everyone, We are buying a flat that does not have gas central heating nor gas connection, there are electric radiators through the flat that are old and need replacing. We know the building is connected to the gas network though. We were thinking about replacing all the radiators and the flooring so might be a good idea installing underfloor heating. After doing some research we discovered there are two types: wet and electric system. Wet systems are better at heating up large area and their running cost is lower compared to electric. Despite doing a lot of research could not find the answers to the questions below: 1. Can you install wet system when you dont have gas central heating nor gas ? if so is it still cost effective? 2. Can we install a wet system if underneath the floor we have concrete? some people told us it makes things more complicated ... The flat is about 70m2 split over two floors. Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Being honest I would suggest a gas boiler and wet central heating system.
