Flexible bath waste to trap connection

Hi, I have a bath that has come with a grey flexible hose coming off of the waste. Not the overflow, which is also flexible and comes pre-assembled due to the shape of the bath, but the actual trailing waste pipe. The pipe is secured by push fit to a plastic pot which is threaded into where you would fit a trap. The connection is so low to the ground that a shallow p trap won't fit in its place. The flexible hose is there because the bath has no panels and need e to slide into position. The hose will go through a hole in the floor where I plan to add a trap immediately. The trouble is I can't figure how to make the connection. The flexible hose is about the same diameter as solvent waste 32mm pipe,which worries me as I would have liked 40mm all the way. The end fits a little loosely into a solvent fitting, but solvent doesn't work on the grey plastic. It also seems a bit flimsy for push fit, although I'd no experience using push fit. It's flimsy enough that I think a compression fitting of some sort would just crush it without some kind of inner sleeve. Has anybody else had this problem before or have an idea how to make the connection?
