What causes dried in condensation drip marks on a painted bathroom wall ?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.52 PM
I have recently painted our recently refurbished small bathroom with white homebase bathroom paint. A week later I noticed long, drips that had dried into the paint that looked like condensation drips. The drips are not coloured. Several weeks later and I notice that all the walls are affected. What should I do please?

It does sound like the problem is as you have described. Although you used bathroom paint and probably didn't shower till the next day, I'm thinking that the paint had not fully cured before condensation formed on it. This has left a water stain in the surface. You can re-paint with the same product and try to leave a longer time before creating condensation, try to control the humidity for the curing time. Or, I can't recommend a better paint for bathrooms than zinnser permawhite. I've used this many times in customers bathrooms with condensation issues and there has never been a problem. It performs outstandingly well
