Removing wallpaper from chipboard walls
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM
We're removing terrible wallpaper from our newly purchased houses bathroom, and having taken off the top layer (using a paper tiger to score) and exposed the liner paper and glued areas underneath ... on chipboard. We thought it'd be on plasterboard so had planned to use a wallpaper remover mix to dissolve the wallpaper glue, to properly clean the wall before looking to pain the walls instead ... but we're now worried that the wallpaper remover solution will instead erode the chipboard resin/glue, and the moisture will spoil the chipboard generally. Is this a legitimate problem? What would you recommend?
