WASHING MACHINE SOCKETS

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

Our washing machine is permanently plugged in a socket without a switch which means although the machine is not switched on by its operating switch there is a constant flow of power going into the machine. Can I plug it in the socket above the work surface that has an on and off switch so I can switch it off after use?. Now I would assume that since this washing machine in plugged constantly into a live socket without a switch the energy sent out of this plug must be transmitted to the washing machine .

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the washing machine is switched off at the dial of the washing machine, then there is no energy used/wasted. Any appliance plugged to a socket must have on and off switch and that is easy accessible.
