Sound like you have a fault and will require an electrician to test the faulty circuit to identify the fault.

Hi, i am assuming you have a fuse board that has an RCD fitted. If it is the RCD that is tripping then you will be losing power to several circuits(as they are fed from the RCD), you have done the right thing by unplugging everything, but there are a couple of extra things that may help. Have you also switched off any fused switched spurs(look like light switches but also has a fuse holder on faceplate). If you still have tripping, then switch off all the breakers that are fed by the RCD(will usually be directly to one side and will be the circuits that currently have no power), with those breakers off try and reset the RCD if it stays on that is great, if not you need an electrician to diagnose a fault. Assuming the RCD stays on switch the breakers that are off, back on one at a time pausing for a few seconds before switching on the next breaker. When you switch on the circuit that is faulty the RCD will trip. There is the problem circuit. You can leave that breaker off, switch on all the other circuits, and contact an electrician to repair the fault with that specific circuit, while having the good circuits back in operation.
