Timer Thermostat Control for both Gas Central Heating & Electric Underfloor Heating?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.12 PM

I currently have a gas central heating system controlled by a thermostat only. As the thermostat will need to be moved from its current location due to some wider rennovation works, I plan to upgrade it to one with a timer. I will be getting electric underfloor heating installed in both the kitchen and bathroom and my question is whether it's possible to have one control system for both the electric underfloor heating areas and the gas central heating? I'd rather not have 3 separate controls for the different systems. I thought Nest might be able to do it but it's not compatible with electric UF heating systems. Thanks for any advice!

Simple answer is NO. As both systems will work independent of each other from a heat source point of view. Not a very difficult heating control systems to wire independently!

You will have to install zone heating values for each part of the property you want to contro and a timer, You Trun on heating , if the room sat is high n that part of the property the zone value will open and turn on the boiler, hope this help you

As the two previous guys have said, you will have to install two separate zone valves for the two systems. Although the boiler will serve both systems, it allows you to switch from one to the other. A single programmer or stat wouldn’t be able to do this for you.
