Bathroom Fitting

Securing an acryllic bath with no access panel

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

I have a bath to fit that is a one peice corner bath. There is no panel to clip in afterwards (See victoriaplumb.com - mode maine p shaped bath). I can't fathom how to fix the bath in place. There are no brackets or fixing kit supplied. It rests on four feet with pre-drilled screw holes, but once the bath is pushed into position I have no means to access the feet to screw them down. I'm tempted to use a strong adhesive but if a leak develops in the trap underneath I'm in trouble! The bath is curved all the way around and I'm not keen to drill holes to use pvc capped screws as they'll stand out. I'm thinking I either need to screw through the floor underneath into a timber prefixed to the feet, or access under the bath by cutting into the stud wall behind and accessing from the next room. Any thoughts?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Buy some "L" shaped brackets and fix to timber on underside of bath and to wall at both ends so you can access them once bath is in situ. If not timber then grip fil some on the underside using g clamps to hold in place. Use a stumpy screwdriver for feet screws, a pain but ive done this.
