Central Heating

Floor boards creak/click/noisy when central heating fires up.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

Hello, You know when you're old Victorian floorboards start clicking loudly in the morning when the central heating fires up? I guess it's the wood expanding when they're next to the pipes. Is there anything you can do to lessen it? Take up the boards and wrap the pipes in some insulation and put the boards back?? Cheers!

its the pipes not the boards, wedged between joists ,you will need to take up boards cut back joists to allow pipes to expand freely.
