Can newly laid Indian stone patio be re grouted immediately as there is difference in colour
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.52 PM
I had a Indian stone patio laid a few weeks ago I noticed the grout is different in Color, I have two separate areas flagged but were grouted by two different guys. I'm very unhappy with the outcome as it looks odd. The landscaper is telling me it cannot be regrouted for a while as flags need to settle. Is this true.

Hi there
Presuming what has been referred as grout ?would usually be a brush joint compound commonly known as eko joint , if so a common mistake may have been made such as the patio surface has not been cleaned and dust free resulting in the brush joint mixing with dirt and debris creating different tones.
Or if it is a mortar joint then the ratio of sand too cement is not consistent threwout.
In terms of sorting the issue out , aslong as the beds are not wet it can be amended if there is no heavy rain on the day.
I hope this has been helpful.
Kind regards

Would require grinding out joints cleaning and re-pointing.
Depending on what jointing compound has been used is a fairly simple job.
Easypoint jointing compound can be done in all weathers ,and up to -5 degs.
Unfortunately if used a bagged grout ,would have to make sure temperature above 8 degs and no everynite freezing!!
