Hi , I needed your advice, i have got 2 celler basment which is half way in the ground. I am not sure should i need a p20 mememberain and the pump system, i can see some salt marking on some of the walls , most of them are pretty dry. My question is can I use dam proff paint or black plastic to cover the wall then have a insulated palsterboar on top or i can go for 2 by 2 studd and fill in the cavity by insualtion then normal plasterboar on top of it and plastering. Please advice me on this my budget is a bit tight and p 20 membraina pump might cost me a lot. a bit confuse please advice

There are a number of options open to you depending on the level of damp coming through, and depending on what you are looking to do with the basement and whether or not you need building regulations approval. The pump system will work well, a tanking system with the RIW sheet seal and cement seal products are good, and a simple 1200guage plastic barrier and boards can work if all you want is for the storage to be a bit dryer. Basically, the more important the room, the more full-on the solution needs to be.
