Silicone peeling off within months and white grout going yellow
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.31 PM
Hi, had a bathroom refit done a year ago. Within 3-4 months the silicone sealant between the shower tray and the tiled wall was peeling off and is now so mouldy it needs replacing. It looks like silicone was put on over grout? Also, the white grout has had yellowish areas on it since day 1, is this normal? Can't contact original fitter to ask. Thanks for the answer - I've read about CT1 being the best sealant for bathrooms. I'm considering getting all sealant in my bathroom removed and replaced with CT1. Would this be a good idea?

My 10 yrs experience it's tell me that the builder use an very cheap silicone or hi done that when the area was wet but I can say the silicone was cheap or old same as grout.
Sometime the water coming dirty because of boiler and something on way can be roster like pipe connection or main water valve pump
I visit the same owner where I done the bathroom job after two years and bathroom looking the same as first day.
