KItchen tiles removal and skimming

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.11 PM

I am not sure if I should look for plasterer or tiler. I need remove the wall tiles (just 45cm high) and made the wall good (only the tiled area). Please advise.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, I would look for a plasterer first, as they can take the tiles off, and make good whilst there and advise accordingly.

A plasterer would be your best bet, as I'm sure they would be able to complete both parts of the job you require. Most tilers wouldn't be able to plaster.

Either could remove the tiles, but if the finished product is a skimmed wall then definitely use a plasterer. If the finished product is for the area to be re-tiled then a decent tiler would be able to make good for tiling, but a plasterer would do the prep for the same sort of price anyway.
