Gypsium coving in grade 2 listed building shower room
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
Hello We are thinking to install a new en-suite in a big room (5m x 2.5m), which was previouy used as music room. We are getting permission to do it. There is a nice ornate coving, which we have to retain. There is a large window in one corner of the room, but we want a large walk in shower in the other corner. We will have extractor fan. Question: is it OK to have open ceiling regular shower? We are worried about gypsium coving - will moisture affect it over time? And if yes, how to resolve it - any ideas ? Thanks for help

Hi. Im sorry i cant really awnser your question in its entirety but i can offer this. The best bathroom paint i have used is a product called permawhite by zinnser. It is everything you need for an area where moisture will gather. Correctly applied it will shield surfaces from moisture and has anti-mould ingredients. Ive re-visited jobs where ive used it years later and it is still performing as it should
