Buying a house without FENSA - indemnity insurance okay?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
I am buying a house which has recently had double French doors fitted. Their solicitor is trying to give me an indemnity only. Is this acceptable? For work carried out in 2011 & 2013 on windows, there are FENSA certificates registered on their website at £20 each. Is the vendor legally obliged to provide the certificates or can he refuse to provide?

Hi, having an indemnity policy is fine as this is your insurance if anything goes wrong with the windows, I've just bought a house with a few indemnity policies.
Hope this helps
