Heated towel rail to radiator.
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM
I have recently moved into a new house and have a chrome heated towel rail in the bathroom and no radiater. As a result the bathroom is always freezing cold. I was wondering if it is a simple job to swap the towel rail over to a traditional radiator? Or if this is even possible. Thanks

In short yes you can swap a plumbed in towel rail for a normal radiator if that's what you wanted.

You can replace the radiator to a standard but a towel rail should be sufficient enough to heat a bathroom the same as a standard rad as long as its big enough/btu calculations are ok

Does the towel rail got an electrical wire connected to a switch situated outside the bath?
If yes, turn the switch on.
If the towel rail is connected to central heating, check that the valve are open or in good working condition.
