Saniflo installation in Ensuite upstairs

Anonymous user 9 August 2017 - 9.18 AM

Hi there. We currently have a shower and a sink installed in our ensuite and we would like to get a toilet installed as well. As our soil pipe is on the other end of the house and we do not want to either wrap the pipe around the house nor dig into our neighbors garden, we are thinking of a Saniflo system. My questions - Is it a decent solution or is it going to cause a lot of problems? - Is it very loud? - How long does a decent Saniflo last? Will I end up changing it every couple of years? - As we have no kids, we can be careful of how we use the toilet and ensure no unnecessary waste is being sent down the toilet! Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you

sani flows are a stop gap solution ,they get louder with age,in my experience always break down at least every two years, even a q tip will stop it,only to be used when nothing else can be done.

Sani-flo's are best if fitted in a floor and wall tiled room so any maintenance can be done without spillages contaminating anything. Since you have a waste pipe in place already and won't be pumping up the way a sani-flo could be worth looking at. There are quite a few youtube videos of sani-flo's that will give you an idea of the noise level, what's noisy in one house may not be as bad in another depending on construction of house. There is another cheaper brand that does the same thing for about half the price.
