Gas Fire for removal. Who to call for job.
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.30 PM
We are wanting to remove a gas fire and surround in our new property. Maybe replace with an electric fire. The surround seems like marble which also extends onto the floor. Who do we contact to arrange the removal of gas fire and surround? Is this something 1 tradesman could do or are we looking at multiple from different trades? How long would this type of job generally take? The house is a mid 80s build.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Always get a CORGI registered tradesman for gas works such as this. They will be able to provide a certificate to prove they are indeed qualified to carry out this type of job.
I would (also) advise a local reputable builder who would be able to oversee the job including an electrician should you wish an electric fire.
Its not worth cutting corners to save money when gas and electricity are concerned - Safety is imperative :)
