Should I paint my banister white or leave it oak stained?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Hello I've bought a house and it had got a banister which is oak stained. I'm not sure what colour this should be - should I paint it white or leave it the way it is? I do want my house to have a hint of modern look. The front door is dark brown colour and also the What option will be better in my case? Any professional advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Yes, white looks much more modern. Sometimes wood stains are really hard to paint, but if you use good quality stain blocker before painting it should be fine.

Go with your preference, white always makes it look a lot more fresh and nicer in my opinon

A "modern" look in my opinion I would be to have the bannister white or a colour. The only bad thing is having to freshen the paint more often than you would have to with wood stain.

If you want to make your hall modern i would paint the bannister white this will open up the area and make it a lot brighter.
