Conservatory Roof Repair?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM

Hi, Our conservatory roof has had a bent/buckled metal roof beam since we moved in. I'm guessing its been stepped on previously in an attempt to trim a tree back. The top plastic seal can no longer click all the way along back into the metal beam and create a seal therefore debris is getting between the plastic sheets. It's not leaking directly into the conservatory at the moment but I wonder if it could cause a bigger issue down the line. Can this beam be replaced / repaired? Thanks

Hi Jamie. The beam you mention is probably a glazing bar which can be replaced. The problem is identifying the makers/manufacturers. There are many different manufacturers out there and it will take a bit of research. You will also need to obtain the height of the bar and the width. Sometimes these can be identified by the cap on the end of the glazing bar. It will probably be kite shaped and have a motif on it. Hope this helps Paul
