We are getting a funny smell coming up from our cupboard smelling like cabbage, the smell vanishes after a few mins. Have lifted the boards up and can not see any problems or indications of sewage

Have checked all pipes for a leak - we also live in a terraced house.

is the smell coming from the sink cupboard and if so has your washing machine waste been plumbed in correctly ,the waste inlet from the appliance must be plumbed in after the sink waste water trap and not on the pipe coming down from the plug to the waste trap.
