Megaflow Pressure Release

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

I just got a megaflow installed. My plumber insists he has installed it correctly, but another plumber checked it and says it hasn't. I'm trying to read up on this and kind of figured it out but not sure. Water from Tundish goes into the waste pipe. This seems to be allowed as long as 1. waste pipe can withstand temperature of 99 degrees and there is a fall of 1cm for every 2m (1 in 200). 2. Dishcharge pipe contains a mechanical seal, not incorporating a water trap, which allows water into the branch pipe without allowing foul air from the drain to be ventilated through the tundish My waste pipe is various sections all in plastic, standard from Wickes/B&Q. Can this withstand these temperatures? I'm not sure about this mechanical seal that' needed. Any advice really appreciated.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
