Bonding and plastering on brick wall inside house

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

I had wood panels on walls, almost ceiling high, we prefer modern look so tearing it off and now I have exposed brick walls in hallway, I am being told i need to use bonding first and then plastering layer on top so that i get smooth walls to paint. Is this right? Please confirm asap.

Yes that's correct. Dust and clean old brickwork then apply pva , then bond it rule of with straight edge untill flat ( no hollows) then apply a key with a float (devil float) skim later must be same day. This is known as float and set in the trade.

You could also dot and dab plasterboard onto the walls using board adhesive. Which ever is most cost effective for you and suites your needs
