Which order to do things after plastering

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

So new to renovating, long story short i •ripped the whole house apart •removed old door linings, skirtings etc •re-wired •installed new door linings •re-boarded and skimmed up to new linings So now the whole house is fully plastered flush up to all the new door linings I still need to have the plumber fully re-plumb the house and install radiators (pipes under floor as its suspended floor bungalow) But im wondering how i should prioritise the rest of work for bedrooms etc such as the mist coating, new skirtings, architraves, hanging new doors etc etc A joiner said i should hang the doors prior to architraves but im thinking maybe hanging doors should be last due to flooring & potential planing??? Any advice appreciated

My advice to you is to follow the line as: A mist coat of pva sealer with some white paint on the walls / ceillings. New floor to be laid down. New skirting boards. New architraves. Covering the floors with plastic sheets, / corex. Filling up the woodwork with 2kfiller. Filling up any of the walls / ceilings that need doing so, any missed bits will be well shown in the mist white coat. Sanding everything down. Dusting off, clearing everything up of any dust / mess. Paint the walls / ceilings. Paint the architraves / skirting boards. Hung new doors. Hope this helped.
