soffit downlights

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

I'm looking to have some downlights installed in the soffit around the garage. * Do they need to be 'outside downlights' or can any downlights be installed? * Have they got to be 'fire rated'? * Do they need to be installed when the new soffit is being installed or can they be installed at a later date?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would use downlights IP 65 rated if you got firerated as well they are slightly more than non firerated.

Hi Lloyd 24 The lights must have an IP rating of at least 44 but they don't have to be fire rated. I think small decking lights would be perfect. It would be easier ,but not essential ,to fit them at the same time as the new soffit is being installed. Regards Steve
