can I bend a copper pipe to fit kitchen tile backsplash behind?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.29 PM

Hi, during renovation we restored the copper pipes coming from our boiler but they run vertical through a tile backsplash area. It looks like someone previously bend one back towards the wall (to fit a wooden box over them) but we need them to be brought back out to have a consistent tile area on that wall. Is this something a plumber or handyman can do without having to replace the pipe? Thank you very much

In order to bend the pipework you would need to install new pipework as the pipe needs to be bent before it is connected to the rigid pipe. This would potentially involve draining the system and cutting out the pipework you have and reinstalling with new pipework. You may be able to have the pipework adapt with some joints which can be soldered into place but again the system would need to be drained to achieve this.
