concrete floor over underfloor heating
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.50 PM
We are renovating an old barn and plan to install a wet underfloor heating system; now we are interested in having a poured (polished) concrete floor. We will obviously be laying the required depth of screed noted on top of the heating. Is it possible to have a polished concrete floor over wet pipe underfloor heating?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes it is possible to install polished concrete over under floor heating. Polished concrete is quite a specialist task in order to achieve a top quality finish. There are specialist contractors installing polished concrete accross the UK.
Hope this helps.

I agree with James but I would not run the system for at least 6 weeks after the pour and also do not use a micro cement solution for the floor, albeit cheaper it just will not stand up to use.
