Gas Works

replacement of gas piping

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.29 PM

we have been informed that the existing gas piping which is beneath the floating floor is laid on a concrete slab which may result in corrosion and needs to be replaced. It has been suggested that the existing 22mm copper piping should be replace by 28mm coated stainless steel pipe and fittings and that it be supported on anti vibration gas support brackets. I can find no information for or against these materials and seek information about them and any alternatives. We have one combi boiler and one gas hob We are aware that any and all gas work will be carried out by a "gas save" registered engineer

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If it was me I would get two or three more opinions on that because messing with gas is very dangerous only a specialist can do this so get more advice and get more people to come with certificates saying they are a proper tradesmen before you let anyone mess with the gas

sounds like the guys quoting are talking about track pipe, track pipe should work well for you. might be best to have a couple of quotes and see if anyone can come up with different ideas. copper is normally cheaper but you might not be able to install it with your location.
