Opening too big for internal door
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.35 PM
Hi, I am looking to fit an internal door to an existing opening. I've found the door I like online but the opening is too big - around 25cm gap in height and 4cm gap in width compare to the opening quoted by the door manufacturer. Will it be possible to narrow the opening, and how? I thought about having a fanlight window on the top. Should I be concerned that it may not able to hold the top-hanging bi-fold door underneath? A complete bespoke solution would be too costly, any advice will be appreciated. Thanks,

Personally I would take architrave off,cap frame with timber to reduce size of opening then re-cut architrave to cover joints on frame.
