Do I need to use treatment on new PAR floorboards
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.10 PM
I have to put new floorboards down (PAR wood) and need to know if it is necessary to treat the wood before laying with preservative. I am laying carpet on top. Thanks.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Rainbowgirl_55
You mentioned that you are laying carpet over the top of the new Par Floor boards, in this case there is no need to treat the timber.
If instead you where wanting to leave them on show and paint or varnish them, then I would recommend using a knot solution that you apply to all the knots in the timber, this will stop them from bleeding through once you've painted them.
Hope this advice helps.
