New gas hob and gas to be reinstated

HI my gas hob needs replacing because of a leak , all my gas has been switched off by transco. Do I need a certificate when it's all done ? I live in a council house. Please advise Thanks for the 2nd reply 👍

Obvious answer is to ring the council as they make the rules.

No you don't, a gas safe engineer will install the new hob and do a new tightness test, job done

This depends on your landlord. The local council houses or housing association properties in my area require safety certificates to prove they were installed correctly by a competent person.
To protect yourself check your tenancy agreement or as your housing provider
