Ceiling water stain marks after leak

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

I've been told not to paint without using a stain block or the water stains will come through again. Which is the best one to use and how do I use it? (The water marks came from a leaking central heating pipe) I've had the damaged part reboarded and skimmed but the water stains continue on both sides. Does the new plaster need stain block on it too? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Any oil based paint will do it, a can of stain block spray is the easiest way assuming its not a large area. You wont need to do the new plaster. Hope it helps
