Can you plaster around wall mounted taps or is best practice to tile the wall?

I'm in the process of refitting my bathroom and need two walls re-plastering. My preference would be to have painted plaster on two of the walls (one has the sink against it, thus the taps), than it would be to tile. I'm not the biggest fan of all fully tiled walls in a bathroom, and cost wise it will be cheaper to plaster and paint 2 of them than it will be to tile in the tiles I have chosen. (I know I'm more likely to get splash marks from the sink) Now my question is, is it good/acceptable practice to plaster up to and around where the piping for the the wall mounted taps come out from the wall, or should I be looking to tile instead? Thanks. I see what you're saying, the decorative finish on the taps can be moved out the way, then pushed back once plastered, so you wouldnt see the edge of the plaster/cut into the tile. The taps are these https://tinyurl.com/ybrb2por

It could be plastered and painted but I would always advise any areas that are prone to moisture should be tiled or wet walled as plaster will stain and weaken after too much exposure to water/steam.

If the pipes are clipped to the wall then they could be unclipped and plastered behind. Plastering up to pipes if they are exposed doesnt look great and tiling around them can look odd but it does depend on how your bathroom will be set out.
