Grout space on tiles on bathroom wall please advise

Please advise I had someone told my bathroom and he never left usual space 2/3mm for grout line the tile are close together only space is minimal what is the log term effect of this? Tiles are in walls

It is not advised due to inherent variations in size and curvature of the tile. All floors endure movement and without spacers the tile will absorb all of the lateral movement resulting in broken tiles.

To add to other response.. Grout also makes the tiled area "water resistant" A must in a wet enviorment GW.
