How to get paint off dumbbells weights

Can anyone suggest how I get paint off dumbbells wights. By accident paint has got a gym dumbbells weights and if anyone know if there is a way that can be removed it will go good to know thanks in advanced

You could also use white spirits or thinners (just be sure to wear gloves with the latter) I would advise against the scouring pad as it could ruin your dumbbells! A rough cloth would work just as well without the potential damage. Hope this helps

I wouldn't suggest a scouring pad since it's quite capable of burring the surface of the dumbbell, even if it's metal (which I assume it is?). Also, if it's an oil-based paint and already dry, White Spirits are no use at all. I'm guessing you're looking at rounded and/or grooved surfaces making it difficult to simply scrape the paint off? In which case your best bet would be something like Nitromors or "No-Nonsense paint and varnish stripper" available at Screwfix. These products are extremely effective at "melting" any type of paint so you can , after an hour or so, simply wipe the crud off with a disposable rag. Do pay attention to the Directions for Use though - products like these are pretty nasty to flesh..! Regards, Rob Adam Master Strokes
