Moving bathroom from back to front of house

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

Hi. Currently our bathroom is on the first floor of our three storey 1903 terrace. There are two box rooms at the front of the house on the first floor and second floor. We would like to convert the box rooms into bathrooms. We would convert the current bathroom into a bedroom. We don't know if the current plumbing for the bathroom (soil stack and connection to foul water) is at back of house but we assume it is. To have bathrooms at the front of the house would we need a soil stack on outside of front of house and connection to foul sewer? We have maps from the council which locate the foul sewer at the front of house next door - ie sewer and manhole to drain is in front of house. Hopefully this helps. Thank you for your advice! We are in central Leeds.

Firstly you will need planning permission from the local council and if accepted and they gave you the go ahead then i would call in a plumber to survey the job. I would also contact a builder about connection to the existing foul sewer for a price. All this work will need approved installers to sign off their work or you can use a local building control officer to over see the work and sign off as corrctly installed. Hope this helps.
