Crumbly wet dash, been on for 1 month
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.44 PM
Hi, we have just had our house rendered with wet dash. The old pebble dash was taken off, and the base coat was sound so the plasterer left that on. It has been on one month. When the scaffolding was taken down they hit an area near the bottom where the bell bottom edge is, and knocked it off, and the damaged dash is really crumbly. Is that normal?

If the render is crumbly after a month it sounds like they used badly gauged mortar (not enough cement in the mix).

Bit of a job to tell really without seeing it, the material is still a bit green at 1 month old, and a scaffold tube can do a lot of damage.
Im sure the guys will reinstate it, and point out your concerns to them.
