Stopping birds coming into the house

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

I am just wondering how I can stop birds coming down my chimney. It appears as though a pigeon got in down my chimney! I'd also like to stop them nesting on it if possible. If anyone can give me any ideas, I need this to be as cheap as possible!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Put a cowl on the chimney pot,the type will depend on what the fire is being used for. Regards Alex

You can put a chimney cowl over the top this then alows the smoke and flumes out but stops the birds etc getting in it's also better than blocking it off completely if it's not used as it still alows the air flow and stops damp
