New supply to existing flat above shop

I am buying a flat in Margate vendor says I have to have a new single phase supply. He says will cost max of £2000 how can I check this?

you could speak to your distribution authority in your area i think this is uk power networks they will advise on what to do next they will more than likely install a new supply and metering, once they have taken a look they will be able to give you a price £2000 seem about right however this will vary between distribution authorities
