Stain on washed clothes...

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

My tenants are complaining that there are yellow stains on washed clothes- We have just changed the washing machine ( as a tradesman came and say that the reason of the stains was the machine) but the problem is coming back, I saw on website that could be rust in the pipes? Can you advise on which tradesman I should look for and what is your analysis of the situation , please? Many thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A common type of stain you can experience on clothing that comes from the washing process is rust stains. These can come either from rust which is developing in your washing machine itself, or from the water you are using to wash your clothes, if it has high mineral content. This can be worsened with the use of chlorine bleach, because bleach will set the stains. Also fabric conditioner can cause staining as it is oil based. If you have had your washing machine plumbed in using the self drilling pipe fitting (chrome tap style) the cutting blade rusts and will cause problems for quite a while.
