What can I do to a felt roof that is the floor to my garden above shops?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM
I live in a block of flats and our garden is situated above the shops below us. The roof of the shops and floor to our garden is felt like the stuff you'd get on top of a shed. I'm wondering what I can do to make it nicer; ie can I lay anything on top of it like artificial grass or decking?

Hi llucylooo.
Without seeing it this can be a tricky situation. In theory you should be able to lay anything on top of the existing roof. However whatever you put down you need to make sure that the roof drains properly as you don't want the shop below getting damp. I have personally seen situations where decking and fake grass has been laid on these type of roofs without any issues.
Good Luck
