Method of building a timber extension over existing flat roof.
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM
Hello. I cannot afford to have a temporary roof scaffolding erected so what method is usually carried out to expose the top of the existing stone walls to allow building of new timber wall plates? Do you just cut enough of the flat roof back, maybe using timber and tarp to cover? Or is it necessary to remove the entire roof in one go?. Any help and advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just cut enough of the existing roof back to facilitate the new works until such time as it’s made waterproof again. Use tarps or similar to keep the area dry while the works are ongoing.
