Who is they? You can have a max load of 15kw on a 6mm cable with diversity applied and suitably sized protective device. What is the kw rating of your cooker in total? Your Edit. Well if it's 10.5 kw, then why can't it go on a 6mm cable. I would get a registered electrician in to do it who knows the electrical regulations BS7671 and can apply diversity to it from table A4 out of the on site guide which every electrician should have and get it done. 10mm cable is overkill. The only law that applies is the IET Electrical Regulations 17th Edition amendment 3 which is our bible really.

Hiya what rating is the Electric cooker. Depending on the length of cable which in house hold circumstances is not normally long. 6mm put on a 40amp MCB this is in the region of 9KW.
