Electric Showers in 2017 - Any good?!?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.28 PM

Hi, We're doing a loft conversion and the builder said we'll need to go for an electric shower (as the boiler is in the kitchen downstairs). It's not something I'd thought about, but are electric showers any good in 2017? They have bad connotations for me... make me think of being in a cheap b&b or something. Maybe I'm being snobby, or they've improved a lot? Any reassurance or advise massively appreciated! Cheers

Electric showers have not improved much in the last 10 years, they still will only provide as much hot water as it can heat up at the time, ie, the hotter you want the shower, the poorer the flow rate. Depending on your boiler type, it might be worth considering a shower pump, the digital shower pumps these days are excellent.
