Conifer tree cutting near a new one storey extension
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.49 PM
The previous owner of my house built an extension 4 years ago to a 1930s building. However he left a conifer 2m away from the new extension as is. The tree is about 20ft high. I have removed a few lower brancges because it was obstructing access and sunlight. I am thinking of completely cutting it now. The area around the tree is not really dry as grass still grows up to the tree. It could mean the tree is not a real water sucker. Will cutting a single conifer cause any heave.

If the extension was passed by planning and building regs then it should be fine as the regs folks will have stipulated a depth of foundation that would deal with this issue.
If you can't find this out it could be quite a job to find out anything useful.
You might need to get a surveyor in to get an accurate answer.

its entirely up to you if you want it removed as long as there is no TPS'S on it, it could be took to ground level and will not cause any harm at all, if you need anymore info please contact us.
